Will Steger has been an eyewitness to the on-going catastrophic consequences of global warming. A formidable voice calling for understanding and the preservation of the Arctic, and the Earth, Steger is best known for his legendary polar explorations. He has traveled tens of thousands of miles by kayak and dogsled over 40 years, leading teams on some of the most significant polar expeditions in history.
For more than 20 years, writer and filmmaker Jon Bowermaster has explored the environment and exotic corners of the world for a variety of national and international publications, primarily for The National Geographic Society and the New York Times. He is the author of eight books and has made seven documentary films of his expeditions. In 1999 he began his OCEANS 8 project, a series of expeditions exploring the world's oceans in a sea kayak, accompanied by teams of top photographers, filmmakers, scientists and navigators.
