Getting Published
Menasha Ridge Press publishes
books about outdoor adventure, wilderness sports activities (excluding
hunting and fishing), and nature. We also publish a smaller number of
books on cooking and worldwide travel. If you would like to submit a
book proposal for our consideration, first browse through our website
to see if your book idea is a good match for our publishing program.
If your concept seems to fit, we would be happy to consider your proposal.
With that in mind, please
follow these guidelines for submission:
-
Attach a cover letter showing
your full name, regular mailing address, phone number, and email address.
Include a website address if you have one that is pertinent to your
proposal.
-
Provide a brief synopsis
of the book idea.
-
Describe the book's target
audience and why they would buy it.
-
Note any potential competition
(other books in print) and describe how your book brings something new
and exciting to the subject area.
-
Provide a Table of Contents
for the book, an introduction, and 2-3 sample chapters.
-
Provide a short, biographical
statement noting your qualifications for writing this book.
Please note: Response to
your proposal will be faster if you submit it and any pertinent digital
photographs via email. Send to our acquisitions editor: shaynes@menasharidge.com. Should we want to pursue the possibility
of publishing your book, we will require that you submit material as
an emailed attachment or on a computer disk. Subsequently, we would
be working with you during the editing process via email and attachments.
If you prefer to send your
proposal via regular mail, please include a self-addressed, stamped
envelope large enough to return submitted materials. If this is not
enclosed, we will not return your materials. Never send your only copy
of any item, and send copies (not originals) of photographs.
