Getting Published
Menasha Ridge Press publishes primarily books about outdoor adventure, wilderness sports activities (excluding hunting and fishing), and nature. If you would like to submit a book proposal for our consideration, first browse through our Web site to see if your book idea is a good match for our publishing program. If your concept seems to fit, we would be happy to consider your proposal.
We prefer that you submit your cover letter and the Proposal Form (see below) as attachments by electronic mail to shaynes[at]menasharidge.com. That will ensure a faster response than submissions by postal mail.
Otherwise, please use the postal address shown at the end of these guidelines. Include a self-addressed, stamped envelope large enough to return submitted materials. If the envelope is not enclosed, we will not return your materials. Never send your only copy of any item, and send copies (not originals) of photographs.
Should we want to pursue the possibility of publishing your book, we will require that you submit the full text material as a Word document, as an emailed attachment, or on a computer disk. Subsequently, we would be working with you during the editing process via email and attachments.
Easy Submission Requirements:
- Whether by email or postal mail, please include a cover letter or cover email showing your full name, regular mailing address, phone number, and email address. Include a Web site address if you have one that is pertinent to your proposal. In the cover letter, briefly describe the gist of your topic and why you are the best or only person to write this book. Otherwise, let the information in the Proposal Form make your case for Menasha Ridge to be your publisher.
- Download and complete the Proposal Form (MS Word .doc format).
