Ken Soderberg has been working in the outdoor recreation profession for 20 years. An avid outdoor enthusiast, since moving to Montana in 1992 he has explored the state by fishing, hiking, climbing, canoeing, and camping.† Vicky Soderberg has traveled extensively in the U.S. and Europe working as a travel writer, and enjoys exploring off the well-traveled routes. The Best in Tent Camping: Montana
Ken and Vicky Soderberg

The Best in Tent Camping: Montana is the only guide to the best tent campgrounds Montana has to offer. The book includes campground layout maps, directions to each campground, and descriptive profiles. Unlike other guides which merely list all campgrounds, The Best in Tent Camping: Montana profiles in detail only the 50 best sites in the state for campers who seek the serene and secluded.

You’ll find essential information about each campground (including season, facilities, rates, directions, GPS coordinates, and Web sites), as well as a description of the campground, the best sites, and nearby activities such as hiking, canoeing, fishing, and mountain biking.

If you subscribe to the opinion that televisions, Japanese lanterns, and electric guitars are not essential camping equipment, The Best in Tent Camping: Montana should be your constant companion.

Each campground profile includes:
Detailed campground maps
Key information such as fees, restrictions, and dates of operation
Driving directions to the campgrounds
Ratings for beauty, privacy, spaciousness, quiet, security, and cleanliness

From the Cabinet Mountain Wilderness in the northwest, to the Yellowstone River Valley in the south, The Best in Tent Camping: Montana is a guidebook for tent campers who like quiet, scenic, and serene campsites. Whether you are a native Montanan in search of new territory or a vacationer on the lookout for that dream campground, this book unlocks the secrets to the best tent camping that Montana has to offer.
